Stock Market Summary (Today 23 May)

Today in the morning NSE BSE opened on a weak note in line with peers and slipped lower. Both the Benchmarks ended at two-month low as euro-zone debt crisis triggered a sell-off in global equities.The stock indices fell sharply today following weak global cues, and barring consumer durables and FMCG. 

Today all sectoral indices closed in the red. Banking was the biggest loosing sector. After poor results from BHEL capital goods also headed southward .The Sensex closed at 17993, down 333 points from its previous close, and Nifty closed at 5387, down 100 points. The top Nifty gainers were GAIL, ITC, Ambuja Cements and Siemens and prime losers included BHEL, Sesa Goa, IDFC and Reliance Infrastructures ltd.
