After a flat start in the morning, the markets showed some movement and both benchmark indices NSE BSE closed with significant gains today. The Nifty closed above the level of 5600. Best performing sectors were IT, metal and realty while auto traded negative. The Sensex closed at 18654, up 147 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5614, up 46 points.
