Weekly Report Of Stock Market (NSE-BSE)


Indian shares fell for the second week in three as they bounced off better-than-expected factory data and ended 0.8 percent down on Friday after a massive earthquake and tsunami frightened Japan, jolting global markets. 
The domestic stock exchanges NSE-BSE ended the last trading session of the week on a bearish note as the broader indices shed nearly 1%.
NSE-BSE Report:-
The Indian stock market opened at a downbeat note ,its tarted recovering as both NSE & BSE indices inched towards the baseline amidst better than expected IIP data. However, the rally did not sustain and within a couple of hours of trade the market plunged heavily after the Asian world was shaken by a major earthquake hitting Japan. 
The benchmark Nifty was dragged near its important support level of 5,400 as the Metal, Power and IT space took the biggest hit. A mild recovery towards the end was not sufficient to make up for the hefty losses and the benchmarks were seen closing lower by nearly 1%. 
  • The BSE Sensex was at 18,174.09 declined by 153.89 points .
  • The NSE Nifty was at 5,445.45 down by 48.95 points .
  • The BSE Midcap was at 6,529.28 lower by 70.51 points or by 1.07%.
  • The BSE SmallCap closed at 7,899.81 down by 89.88 points or by 1.12%. 
  • The BSE Sensex  intraday high of 18,368.43.
  • The BSE Sensex intraday low of 18,063.29.

  • ONGC Ltd (Rs. 281.30,2.14%),
  • Reliance Industries (Rs. 991.60,0.73%), 
  • Tata Power (Rs. 1200.00,0.55%), 
  • HUL (Rs. 277.95,0.42%) 
  • ITC Ltd (Rs. 171.25,0.15. 

Top losers  BSE Sensex :-
  • Bharat Heavy Electricals (Rs. 1974.70,3.64%)
  • Reliance Communications (Rs. 96.30,3.46%),
  • Reliance Infrastructure (Rs. 604.65,3.19%), 
  • Sterlite Industries (Rs. 160.15,3.06%) 
  • Jaiprakash Associates (Rs. 81.95,2.90%)
 
Sectorial Report:-  
The Metal, IT, Power and Capital Goods space were the major losers during the session. The Oil&Gas space traded strong Both the Nifty and Sensex traded extremely weak throughout the session.  
  • Metal declined by 1.91%
  • IT declined by 1.49%
  • Power declined by 1.49% 
  • Capital Goods declined by 1.42%  
  • Oil&Gas space traded strong gained by 0.81%

Global Market Report:-
On the global markets front, all the major indices in Asia closed on a negative note.Moreover, the Japanese Stock Exchange plunged heavily after an earthquake with 8.9 magnitude shook buildings in the country’s financial center and the government issued a tsunami warning.
The Nikkei225 declined by 1.72% at 10,254.43
Hang Seng declined by 1.55% at 23,249.78,
Jakarta Composite declined by 1.27% at 3,542.23, 
Seoul Composite declined by  1.31% at 1,955.54  
Shanghai Composite declined by 0.73% at 2,935.61
